Picture Book Idea Month
Hop on over and visit Tara Lazar for another turkey-time distraction: PiBoIdMo, or Picture Book Idea Month. Finding ideas for picture books are not usually my problem. I’ve even taught classes on the topic (what happens after the idea stage is more of a problem to me). I’ve always claimed that my problem was time and space to write. Hmmmm… I thought I licked that time excuse when I was forty and pregnant and realized I’d never have time (so I might as well just do it), but it’s still my favorite excuse. However, this NaNoWriMo business showed me I can crank out some words.
And here’s Tara with kids, following her writing dream, too. It seems we’re a lonely lot, reaching out where we can, and determined to find inspiration where we can, even if it means biting into the rest of our lives in a big way during November. I’ve considered adding PiBoIdMo to the mix–”I could do this, too! I can catch up!”–but I think it’s just that long-past overachiever part of me rearing its head. Maybe next year…
Here’s how Tara describes herself and her blog:
I’m an aspiring children’s book author and mother of two young girls. Come join me as I push a stroller along the road to publication. I collect shiny doodads on the journey and share them here.
Some of those shiny doodads she shares are authors and books.
Scene by scene, Wrimos. Idea by idea, Idmos.
